Back then, he was an employee at a local pool company, where he first learned the ropes of the trade. ‘I appreciate everything they taught me,’ Mauro reflects, ‘but it was time to build something of my own.’
He named the company after the initials of his two beloved children—a heartfelt nod to the family that fuels every splash and resurfacing project. The early days were all about self-learning: ups and downs that tested resolve, much like the humid Florida summers. Inspired by ‘The world belongs to the brave,’ Mauro poured his passion into pools, turning small gigs into a calling that still echoes in every backyard oasis we create.
As demand grew, Mauro hired a handful of young talents to tackle bigger projects, turning garage-side hustles into professional triumphs.
By sharing space in a rented warehouse with The Pool Specialist, both companies fueled each other’s growth for two solid years. But D&J was expanding fast—needing room to breathe. In 2019, a milestone: Mauro bought his own excavators and moved into our current warehouse, a space buzzing with possibility. Those years? Pure hustle—hard work, calculated risks, brave decisions, and, above all, blessings from above. From just 5 employees in 2015 to 98 by 2022, we’ve scaled with heart. Even through the COVID-19 pandemic, D&J stayed steady, maintaining a constant rhythm of work when others faltered.
We began as subcontractors for big players in the history of pool companies in Orlando, but Mauro’s vision led us to direct client relationships. Today, we boast our own sales team, a stunning showroom, top-tier customer service, and a robust website packed with resources.
