Quick answer
For pool resurfacing in Winter Garden, including Horizon West, D&J The Pool Resurfacers (Florida license CPC1459797) installs pebble, quartz and polished finishes, working out of a showroom in northwest Orlando.
What we do in Winter Garden
Our crew comes over from northwest Orlando by SR 429 or SR 408, and you're welcome to make the trip the other way to choose your finish at the showroom.
You get a quote and a clear schedule: about 3–4 days of hands-on work, then roughly a month and a half in total until the water is ready for swimming.
Resurfacing, new pools and decks, handled by our own crew from the first inspection to the refill.
From citrus town to master-planned communities
Winter Garden grew up on citrus and on the shores of Lake Apopka, and its downtown historic district — Plant Street, the Garden Theatre and the West Orange Trail on the old rail line — still shows that past. After back-to-back freezes in the 1980s ended citrus profitability, much of the grove land turned into neighborhoods.
Today a lot of the growth is south of downtown toward Horizon West, a master-planned area Orange County adopted in the 1990s that overlaps parts of Winter Garden and Windermere. Many homes there sit in HOA-managed communities, so exterior changes — pool color included — can come with an approval step.

What Winter Garden pool owners ask about
HOA color approval
Communities in Winter Garden and Horizon West often have architectural guidelines. Get the details of your finish, color and tile from us first, then submit them to your association before booking dates.
A first resurfacing
Pools in newer communities may be coming up on their first resurfacing. If the original surface feels rough or looks blotchy, pebble, quartz or polished is a durable step up.
Protecting the new finish
Heat and chlorine are hard on any pool surface. Balanced water chemistry after start-up is the single best way to keep a new finish looking its best.
Getting from Winter Garden to our showroom
Two good routes connect Winter Garden with our showroom off John Young Parkway in northwest Orlando: a shorter one through the northwest suburbs and an all-expressway option.
- 1From downtown, head east on Plant Street and pick up SR 429 (Western Beltway) northbound.
- 2Take the West Road / Clarcona-Ocoee Road exit and follow Clarcona-Ocoee Road east to its end at Edgewater Drive.
- 3Turn right on Edgewater Drive, right on All American Blvd, then an immediate left onto Carder Rd.
- 4Prefer expressways? Take SR 50 (Colonial Drive) east to SR 408, exit at John Young Parkway, head north and turn left onto Carder Rd.
About 13 miles from downtown Winter Garden on the SR 429 route, or about 17 miles via SR 408. SR 429 and SR 408 are toll roads.

Questions, answered
Straight answers, based on how we actually work.
Do you serve Horizon West as well as Winter Garden?
Yes. We work across Winter Garden and nearby Horizon West communities such as Lakeside Village and Hamlin, along with neighborhoods like Stoneybrook West, Westfield Lakes and Glynwood.
Can you help with my HOA's approval?
We can guide you through it. Your quote spells out the finish, color and tile — the kind of detail an architectural review usually wants to see. The decision is your HOA's, so check its timeline before you schedule.
How long does the whole project take?
Hands-on work for a complete resurfacing is 3–4 days. From start to swim-ready, including chemical start-up, plan on about a month and a half.
Where is your showroom?
At 5610 Carder Rd, Orlando — about 13 miles from downtown Winter Garden via SR 429 and Clarcona-Ocoee Road. You can see tile and finish samples there in person.
Is PebbleTec worth it over quartz?
It depends on the look and budget you want. Quartz is smooth, durable and colorful; pebble has a natural texture, and PebbleTec carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty; polished is a smooth, polished-stone finish. We're certified PebbleTec applicators and install all three.
