When the finish turns rough to the touch, stained, cracked or simply past its best years. Florida sun, heavy rain, heat, pool chemistry and year-round use wear every finish down eventually, and a complete resurfacing is the most effective way to restore the pool and extend its life for the long term.

How does pool resurfacing work, day by day?
3–4 days of hands-on work, then refill and the chemical start-up. About a month and a half from the first day to swim-ready. Here is the real sequence our crew follows.
Before day 1
Free inspection, quote and your choices
We inspect the shell, tile and equipment and give you a clear quote. You can visit our Orlando showroom to see tile and finish samples in person before you decide.
Day 1
Drain the pool
Draining a standard residential pool takes most of the first day. From this moment the pool is a work site and off-limits.
Days 1–2
Remove the old surface and tile, and prep the shell
We remove the old finish and tile as needed. Hollow areas, where the old finish has separated from the shell, come out completely. This chip-out is the noisiest part of the job and usually lasts one to two days. Then the manual acid wash and the bonding agent prepare the surface for the new finish.
Days 2–3
New tile goes in first
The new waterline and step tile is set before the finish, so the edges meet cleanly.
Day 3 or 4
The new finish, applied by hand in a single day
The finish goes on and is smoothed by hand with trowels across the entire surface in one day. Florida's summer heat can speed up the drying of the bonding agent, which sometimes shortens this phase.
Right after
Acid wash, detailing and new fittings
We finish the details and install new fittings. As soon as the finish is applied, the refill starts.
Days 4–6
Refill
Refilling takes 12 to 48 hours depending on the size of the pool. The new surface cures under water.
The weeks that follow
Chemical start-up
The water chemistry is balanced step by step while the finish cures. Cloudy or milky water during this phase is normal and temporary: it is dust releasing from the new surface, and it clears as the start-up progresses. No swimming yet.
About a month and a half
Swim-ready
Once the start-up is complete and the chemistry is confirmed, the pool is yours again.
Every pool is different. Size, the condition of the old surface and the weather can move a day here or there, and we tell you as soon as anything changes.

- Turn off irrigation zones near the pool and cover plants you want to protect
- Let your pool service know, and give your neighbors a heads-up about the chip-out noise

- The pool is off-limits from drain day until the start-up is complete
- Keep children and pets away from the work area, especially during chip-out
- You don't need to be home every day. If you travel, you can come back to a finished pool

Can I use my pool during resurfacing?
No. Once the pool is drained on day one, it is off-limits until the new finish is applied, the pool is refilled and the chemical start-up is complete. Plan for about a month and a half without the pool.
